How to Use DISC

Information contained in the DISC electronic database is organized in three sections: information about Organizations, information about Services, and Documents.

Organizations are categorized in the DISC electronic database by type of Organization:

  • Africa Regional Organizations: Disabled Persons Organization (DPO), Governmental, NGO

  • Ethiopian Government Organizations: Federal, Regional and Woreda Governments/Administrations

  • International Organizations at work in Ethiopia: Development NGOs, Disability NGOs, Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs), Professional Associations, UN Organization, Agency, Program

  • Local-Level Organizations: Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs), Self-Help Groups of Disabled Persons

  • National-Level Organizations: Development NGOs, Disability NGOs, Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs), Networks, Professional Associations, Religious Organizations, Universities/Educational Institutions

  • Other Organizations

You can locate information in the DISC electronic database about a disability-related organization in 3 ways: by category of organization, by Regional location and by searching its name. On the DISC left-hand navigation bar go to “Organizations” and select your search option. Note: after selecting “By Category” you must FIRST expand each list by clicking on the “+” sign before initiating your search.
