ECDD-EMPOWER Project offered “Learning and Sharing Among Partner Universities Workshop” in “Jimma University” from Nov. 24-25, 2022 in Jimma City. Dr. Tadesse Habtamu, the Vice president of Academic Affairs of ‘Jimma University’, on his opening speech of the workshop remarks equal access of education to all students is important to ‘Jimma University’ and disability inclusion is subject to a series of widespread actions.
Mr. Yohannes Teklay, ECDD Inclusive Education Project Coordinator, explained the workshop creates opportunity to discuss problems of Students with Disabilities (SWDs), unpacking barriers, explore solutions and share experience among ‘Dilla’, ‘Debre Birhan’ and ‘Jimma’ Universities. Further he remarked the workshop is designed to amplify awareness about more accessible environment for all students with different disabilities inside higher education.
The program is funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland and National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL).
